Visitor 134,130 people found most useful the following review helpful. ... Master of the majority by A. Dent As in Jack of All Trades:) I would like to start by saying that "I like" (but not quite "love") Hub WD live TV and it makes a 4 (not 5) stars. And I like, despite missing some almost "must have" characteristics of a device of its kind, as some redundancy (RAID-1 disk mirroring =) or at least an integrated backup utility or other significant safety and to a lesser extent (I 'I'll explain) built-in Wi-Fi and I really like that there are still occasional errors, such as lack of maintenance Hub / update your' Media Library '. And I like that, though the "services" Hub compatible web a few at the moment - because some "great" either. ___________________________ Note: (updated 09/09/2011): I'm updating this to 5-stars because the original draft of my review, most bugs have been corrected, and many Web services and other important features such as 'game' has been Added thanks to its versatility, built-in storage, low energy consumption and its ability to integrate with the rest of the hub is now the central element (the true center) of my entertainment center. ___________________________ WHY I like it mentions some of the shortcomings properly above, I like the hub, because: The hub proves to be a well-connected, is relatively easy to use and operate energy-efficient, physically small, versatile video / music / stills Players with ability, the equivalent of almost 200 DVD-quality movies on the built-in 1 TB drives, expandable to synchronize many times more than it is connected to a USB drive and be able to play the contents of every available media server Built to save as PCs, Xbox or PS3, Microsoft Home Server or NAS (Network Attached Storage) The Hub can also get out on the net, and report to the local weather, play YouTube videos, Netflix, Hulu Plus and blockbuster movies, podcasts and music from Pandora (I created a list of supported web services below). I had the opportunity to add live TV Hub for my Harmony universal remote settings and I could deal with the lack of a backup function (running a scheduled Robocopy job from a master server), because the Axis unit can be assigned and handled like any other computer unit via a PC hub reflect the content of existing media servers and acts as a media server for other devices (PC, PS3, etc) on the same network. It can be configured to synchronize with any content you find on your home network and is compatible with iTunes (I have not tried it myself supporting iTunes). And for heavy users of YouTube, a USB keyboard, to allow easy browsing. In addition, the Hub it easy to send a message directly to Facebook and Flickr. And finally, the hub is likely to do more and better tomorrow, because WD is constantly updating the firmware and hopefully it will quickly solve some of the more annoying bugs, and because it appears to be an active, lively, innovative, helpful and supporting users [Rating: 2. firmware updates later, a new Web services are added and some bugs] ________________________________________________________________ Here is the hub functions in a more organized form. Media Player - Play video in full HD and multi-channel audio. - Music playback supports playlists. - Play movies / videos with filters for genre, rating and so on. - Images, has slideshow capabilities. - Games section (added on 17/05/2011) uploaded "Mind Games" as Sudoku, puzzles, games, memory. Media Hub - Operates as a media server for other devices (PC, PS3, Xbox). PS3 "saw" the hub and was able to deliver content to play as soon as it went online. - Read content from other media servers on the LAN, he saw "everything" we have lit together as quickly as. - Get the content out NAS (Network Attached Storage). - Synchronization with the media on the PC available and provides support for iTunes. ONLINE.
