Client more useful in 37 of 38 people found this review helpful. Excellent product by Sam Smith, I ordered this item from somewhere else, so I avoided all the problems that the reviewer previous experience. Apart from this, now I've had this product for 2 weeks and it was great work. The setup took a few tries to find the drive, but when minor bumps in the road that has worked well and exactly as advertised. Just connect to my existing external USB drive was very easy. Speed upload / download is very quick. WebAccess works great as well. My only complaint is that the automatic mode, the drive is turned off due to inactivity (as it should), you can not boot the new hard drive WebAccess. It can be reactivated only by the home network. So if you want to use WebAccess occasionally, the device must be switched on all the time and energy wastage. A small problem in the grand scheme of things themselves. 56 of 61 people found the following review helpful Almost promises of Mr Sousa products on almost everything I had expected from the description. An important piece that is not clear on the specifications that the external USB hard drive must be formatted to XFS, to read the user in a position / write. All Legacy USB hard drive, you may have is probably already formatted to NTFS or FAT32. Once installed on the LinkStation's USB port, you can read but not write to it. There are two major effects on them: First you have to spend a lot of time trying to ensure the original content of the link station device, format it to XFS, and spend a lot of time again to make the copy back data to make it .. . and you can not install, do it yourself. You need to copy from a networked PC to cause an intense and unnecessary traffic to do. Took me two whole days to do this process in a 300GB hard drive. Second: After the format, you can not remove read the USB drive and you about it in another machine with Vista or XP. Only Linux / Unix operating system would be able to read data from there just a trap to occur during installation, a bug that requests for buffalo may not be reproduced, and therefore can not solve the problem, but is connected by dozens users in their FAQ blog, has blocked my administrator password. I could not enter the username admin and of course could not, t change anything in the configuration. Only a couple of days, I managed to find a solution to a "refresh" on firmaware. Their blog is the step by step for her. I hope the same does not happen again. Besides this, the alarm works fine (but you need to use their NAS Navigator application on each client to make the unit woke up after a standby). The driver is still fast enough to allow DVDs to be stored on a DVD and played on my laptop. In addition, the Media Server feature and it works fine in iTunes on the network can create a library based on it. I may end up with a USB port as a backup of sensitive data on the LinkStation, and not as a unit of storage (this is the recommendation from the company at least) 22 of 22 people found this review helpful. Excellent versatile NAS By Mark bought a home and was told that doing an excellent job, I bought one for my small office as well. For home, I needed a NAS to store media on an always on device to transfer to the PS3 and Xbox 360. This Buffalo device does very well, with some starting in each of these two devices DLNA. Only the "Media Server" from the very simple to use web based administration tool and as a whole. Other features: access to the web is a very simple page access (buffalonas.com), combined with comprehensive, yet easy to use user management. Bittorrent also functions as easy and convenient it is so, let's use even if you do not know by now what he does. It works while the computer is off - of course, and is quiet - really quiet, because this machine is so quiet, even when opening files not 5 stars because: really stupid - the PS3 photos are selected.

3D Technology Checklist This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires: A DisplayFirst, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession. A SourceYour display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands. HDMI CableTo connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality. If you want to get more information about 3D, shop our 3D products, watch videos, or interact with other customers, we invite you to visit 3D 101, our customer center about everything 3D. Internet-Ready Devices Internet-ready devices use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content to your television, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast.Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications.Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision.Learn more about Internet-ready devices and HDTVs, how they work, what services are offered by different manufacturers, and exactly what you'll need to get started at our Internet TV 101 customer center. The best feedback from customers 297 of 319 people found this review helpful. A good unit, but some strange problems network of N. Porter [This is a review long justified by the number of features of the BDP-S580. I try to provide all relevant information as possible in an attempt to make it as useful to you as possible. If only one line of a "this is good," I apologize, but some people like the details:) I know I do]. IMPORTANT: I have added a number of changes and modifications over time to keep this review so far. Be sure to check to demonstrate the previous resolutions of the problems I have experienced. Normally, I left the original themes in place of the review, followed by a problem with a resolution, so that people who encounter the same problem might find the answers. A little history ... This was bought to replace an old Sharp HP20U Blu-Ray and some of the characteristics of a Dlink DSM-520 Network Media Player. After that also have the property of Sony BDP-S570 (the model before the S580), for a brief period as an attempt to replace the first, I decided to come back and get the new BDP-S580 model instead, in the hope that could correct or improve a lot of flaws in 570 DLNA Let me say in advance that I like about this unit, but have some concerns. I am using wired Gigabit LAN with over CAT6, although this device has only a 100M Ethernet connection, and use the fastest service available where usually get 15-28 Mbps card download speed at any given time. I am using HDMI through a receiver to a 1080p Sharp. First the good ... 1) Blu-ray load times are much faster than many other devices on the market. It 'was one of the main points I wanted to achieve with the camera. In fact, the BDP-S570 first release is still one of the fastest charger CNET ever, even with the "Quick Start" off, which is comparable. I recommend leaving the option to quickly get started, usually to save energy, the cost of money to keep the device in a sort of boot mode is not worth it if the player can stand up to very If a fast speed in any way to load the speed test, I used the "Avatar" BD, the worst start for a long time between the discs I own. Avator lasted more than 5 minutes to the main menu screen on my old Sharp, Sony and comes to the main menu in about 2 minutes 50 seconds. That still is not fast, but remember that this loader is the worst I've ever seen. Databases like Master and Commander "," Cars "or" 300 "all their menus in about 30 seconds, and reach the main menu, I mean I had all copyright notices FBI, etc. 2) The unit is quiet when playing a disc. Do not be silent, but seems better than the S570 and much better than the old Sharp. Note that when you leave a disc while using other features of the S580, you still have a bit of noise, as if ready to keep the database I think this is not a bad idea for a quick start in the choice of BD menu system. 3) The BDP-S580 uses the standard Sony XDB interface that can be found on the PS3, PSP, etc. I like, but not others. In my opinion, is fast, clean, easy to navigate, and this particular device seems to respond very quickly when you scroll through the icons / options (some have seemed slower). 4) I had no problems with buffering, stuttering or pausing video while playing online. I Amazon Instant Video, YouTube, YouTube, Hulu and video HD Plus free to experiment. There is no problem playing audio online, using Pandora, NPR, Slacker. However, please see the notes below in the "bad" that relate to the transmission actually starting to get ... 5) audio playback is good and the DLNA interface is fast and responsive. Much faster than the Dlink DSM-520 All files have played well so far and contained. Wma and. Mp3 format. Note that this observation is related AUDIO FILES only the "bad" part of my thoughts on video files through DLNA ....

Charles O'Donnell, I bought the 2 TB version is nice to have our photos and music online so you can use our Bravia Sony and Blu Ray to browse photos or listen to music through our sound system. And my Internet Radio Grace Digital now has access to 4000 tracks on our local network. So I like it. But ... I connected as shown in our network and installed the Iomega software. The manager did not find the disc as it should. I logged on our router to find the IP address and add the device manually. It 'made. Minor inconvenience. Then I noticed that the NAS device advertised capacity of 1.8 TB, 2 TB do not. OK, 1.8 TB is still a whale of a storage space, but it is 2 TB. Now I have 8000 pictures and 4000 audio tracks on the disc, there are still 1.78 TB of free space. So a big problem. All folders on the NAS appeared on my list of folders in Windows Explorer, so I thought I could just all music and photos directly to the mapped drives seemed to work with music copying - no matter what the 15 hours it took to 18 GB copy - but the pictures are not good to copy everything. Some files were lost and only the majority of the others were corrupt. I tried to redistribution with a direct connection to the wired network instead of a wireless connection, but still no joy. What finally worked was to the FTP server on the NAS and to allow a client to use FTP (Filezilla in my case) to upload photos. Not all work and no corrupt files, it took a fraction of the time it took to copy the file. It worked so well that I deleted all songs and uploaded it a second time using FTP. Why risk it? It lasted two hours instead of 15. Nowhere could I have any tips on adding content to the device to find the instructions. That would have been helpful. I tried making the function of the personal cloud. The NAS will automatically configure the router, but failed to do so, I find not in a position, like the port forwarding configured on the router to do the work, any combination of IP address and port tries proposed was . Now my router is about 6 years, 2 years in hundreds of routers, so I bought a new router. It was less than $ 40 and I have not tried it yet, but I'll let you know. But true all the little inconveniences, no? But I can not respect the darn thing seems to be offline from time to time. I can not access it with the director or the web page. I have to reboot to make it work, and it will take seven forevers to restart. Summary: great concept, great result, if it works, but in a world where nothing is too easy, what excited me is a product of what it is, without hours of my time is not coming. It is still not there. UPDATE: The new router is not in itself sufficient for my own personal cloud, but when I UPnP feature is enabled on the router, the NAS was able to their ports still no joy to configure. I spoke to Iomega's technical support and they led me through their checklist, most of which I had already tried, but if they come from the ROM, you do not press the Cancel button. Everything seemed copacetic on my end as my next conversation with my ISP, Century link. I called Century Link's technical support and they are great. Dave Mac suggested that I needed to "bridge modem" and took me through the process step by step. In two minutes it was done and NAS synced up and made the connection. Yay! But I'm still figuring out the personal cloud and it seems to be affected or when trying to connect to miss. There's always something. 23 of 27 people found the following review helpful. By Marty Gillis, I was pleasantly surprised by the LG BD630! You get a lot of money! I'll try to do this a small part in this review, so if you are interested read on Mc Duff! I bought this camera for my elderly father, who took 81 years to watch Xvid and MKV files from the Internet, usually documentaries on the history of WW2 and other programs. Of course, it seems that DVD, but so far did not draw on Blu-ray and Netflix streaming. I need something for him, it was very easy to follow menu system and worked well with minimal defects. The same unit is very basic on the outside. The BD630 has an on / off, eject, play / pause and stop buttons on the face and a USB port is covered by a little rubber 'on the right side with the disc tray to the environment. Not exactly high quality arising from construction, at first glance, but what makes this little player is the software so good inside (more on that soon) Of course, it seems quite cheap, as they say good things can and come in small packages. This is a very small unit (not too deep) and very light. Came filled with a PRINTED manual decent, basic wiring (requires an HDMI or component) and a remote control function that uses only one AAA cell, are also included. It comes with a pair of print ads from Netflix, and even a small sticker on top of the unit is crying Netflix. (Removes easily) The power cord is connected. You get composite video, stereo RCA audio outputs, component video and HDMI output, a coaxial digital audio output and a LAN port to connect to your network if you want to use features like Netflix Netcast and you tube. As is not activated at the lower end of the LG food chain this player DLNA and play your video files (except Blu-ray and DVD), you have a USB device flow, or a USB stick or external hard drive that you can not Connect to this device over the Ethernet connection to your computer. LG brings some models, the more functions it UP. I think that's understandable given the price level. Connectivity is very good indeed, you can use this device with one of an analog TV standard all the way up to 1080p HDTV and audio options are just as good with the analog stereo outputs or digital coaxial cable, which can process up to 5 , a Dolby Digital or DTS, HDMI output, an uncompressed TruHD Dolby or DTS Master Audio tracks, can that most versions of blu ray accompany happen. You can adjust the video output to match the resolution of the TV, adjust the aspect ratio of 4:03 to play as it is to stretch or programs to fill the screen. The USB port can be used for a USB memory stick or external hard drive connected, it is not so picky about the formatting of the disk and can support up to four disk partitions. Only it's fantastic for the price and a nice touch. This brings me to my first and only major complaint about this machine. It's so easy then when you connect your USB device or cable to it, usually the unit to fire back. Maybe add some slip a small rubber feet on the bottom with a few drops of super glue would be easy to solve. Be aware that if you're not careful, you can tap thing on access to that function. Note: If any BD-Live features that you would like to download and re-open, a USB device is necessary as it apparently is minimal onboard memory. I personally disable BD Live on all machines I have, because it tends to slow load times. Set up took less than two minutes after the connection is made. The machine starts quickly. Easy as fast as my Oppo BDP-80 It was interesting when I load a Blu Ray Java heavy and loaded very quickly. I.

I called Buffalo tech support and they advised me and reset the device and update firmware. It resolved the permissions issue. My only regret is not having chosen larger hard drives, because I have mirrored disks. except that it's been a week and no problems at all. My only complaint is the availability of the device and the cover should have done a little more robust, which said that the unit is very elegant. I saw some reports in the Buffalo community release Windows 7 drive mappings, but these issues on my WinXP, Vista and Ubuntu Linux. I have local and remote access 24 / 7, I'm happy with my new NAS 18 of 19 people found this review helpful. Excellent NAS Justin E. Hester, I had originally wanted to go with Seagate BlackArmor drive, but it was over and after reading some reviews decided to go with Buffalo drive I'm very glad I did. Contrary to what some other reviewers have pointed out that works wonderfully current model and also in a mirrored RAID has good response times. Of course, the first process to backup and copy over the data took some time, but honestly, if you have something running in a RAID configuration, I do not expect the SSD memory or data transfer rate. Whereas it was for most of the data via a wireless and a RAID configuration transfer, it was pretty quick (about 5 hours drive from four systems simultaneously for a total of 200GB). Some complain about this, but I think people expect unrealistic idea of copying an internal 7200 RPM SATA 7200 RPM to another internal SATA. The reality is this was going on over a wireless network and write to two physical devices, not just one. So from my perspective this was a perfectly acceptable and rapid transfer of data read is much faster because it only requires an access unit for reading and I can stream audio without problems. I do not have no other video stream to a handful of music videos are 1024 x 768 and scaled up steam without problems. After all, a great buy for the price and I know that Buffalo is behind their products. I know some corp and government agencies that regularly Buffalo NAS RAID can be used for backups of the entire system, etc. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Brad Bouchard great product I am an AV integrator and frequently use this product as a DLNA server for a wide range of facilities, including AV receivers and Sonos music systems, I still have a house. Working straight from the box, without an extreme amount of IT knowledge. IP interface is filled a little jargon as it can be used for a wide range of backup tasks, but as a music server, I can not give it nothing but praise Cheap, quiet, solidly built. Thanks to Buffalo. Most helpful customer reviews 48 of 49 people found the following review helpful. I give it 5 stars, however. . . For a customer, I have this little box in nbox and other similar media players, especially because it has a wider range of audio / video connections, and it is basically the difference priced shares. I use the HDMI port on my plasma screen, and digital coaxial connection to my receiver. I favor Western Digital My Passport Essential USB drives, and I could not be happier with the results. The HD picture looks great, and the booming 5.1 surround sound that far exceeds what I could from my laptop. It searches very quickly through your files, folders and subfolders, and it provides a continuous playback of your media. It plays AVI, MPG, MP4, VOB, MKV, and images without any problems. The box is filled with composite cable and a card component video cable. It has two USB ports, and presumably you can copy / paste / delete between the two, and apparently you can play a slide show and contemporary music, or where I have not tried, however, has made defects. Like most remotes, it is very un-user friendly, and does not work when you are over 10 meters. The manual is thin and a little 'disorganized, so read carefully. He would not cooperate with one of my records for any reason, and would not even play one of my flash videos, not that I've ever save them anyway. I put a movie paused for a few minutes, when I started reading the audio became out of sync, and I had a new inspiration to realign. However, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages - I doubt that burn a new DVD. Some advice: If you connect this place and turn it on and get a picture, repeatedly press the "TV Out" on the first remote, the menu will soon come in the form of strong color. I recommend turning off the power with the on / off switch on the back, instead of using the remote control, it should go into "sleep mode", but I think it still uses to be inactive for too much power, and I am more comfortable Connect the player before I completely removed the USB cable. If your video file with AC3 audio is encoded, and using a hi-fi, can you set the digital edition of "RAW" decode so your receiver Dolby Digital / DTS soundtrack, you will probably only 2-channel Stereo. Overall a very versatile little gadget that should complement any home theater, if you have little storage space for your DVD and CD, or if you move to a convenient way to experience your PC into the living room. I just hope it is as durable as it performs. 26 of 26 customers found this review helpful. Five stars, but no! - Read the full review. From a customer that I got my new HD Mplay yesterday and have used it quite extensively with a wide selection of movies and throw all the functions I can say without reservation that this is currently the best cheap HD media player to explore. I have used digital media player for a few years now, starting with the previous TVIX models in 2008, and I have owned other brands like WD, Seagate, Asus, and now this unit Micca. The main draw for me that this device is that it is one of the first players in the new Realtek 1055 chipset. This chipset was released in late 2010 and the players began to appear in early 2011. The best thing about 1055 is that the same picture and sound can decode the high end and Sigma Realtek chip design, but they keep costs down by not one network, SATA, USB3.0 and other functions that the user may or do not want. Basically, if you want a good performance regardless Media Player and you want it cheap, be a player with Realtek 1055 be in the top of the list Back to mplayer-HD, which are small, about the size of a novel pocket, but thinner. It is also very light, all plastic case with probably a single circuit board inside, and no.

Most helpful customer reviews 124 of 127 people found the following review helpful. Pretty simple home network device by David Lee, I used the 1 TB media drive for about a month and half now and have a very positive experience. I put it on an XP machine and had some trouble connecting to it from my Vista laptop and XP netbook without installing any software. The only feature I do not have used the USB Print Server (my printer in my office and the hard disk is connected in the living room next to the router and do not want either one, so they can be physically connected to move). My PS3 found automatically on the network, and I use the PS3 for watching TV programs stored on the hard drive on my HDTV. This works well. I can not edit files with the PS3, but I can play AVI and MP3 files (I sometimes play music through my stereo this way, but also TV programs). Formats. M mkv will not play this way, but that is a function of the PS3 instead of a limitation of the hard drive I am not using backup software that comes with it, I manually upload files to the device in any of my computers. I can keep my business files, writing, music, etc. on the disc and therefore can, for example, sit with my netbook still access all my files (which is very useful since the very characteristics netbook some local storage). All my files are in place and no matter what computer I'm using. File upload is not much, if any, faster than USB 2.0 in my experience, but the download speed seems faster, and even video files play very high resolution on the network without delay. For me, this HD solved many problems. I recommend if you have multiple computers at home and a collection of media or data files you want to share, especially if you have a compatible device such as a PS3 connected to your TV. If you only have a PC and will not play on TV, it's best with a 1 TB USB as it is cheaper to transfer the Pros * Decent performance on my network (cable and wireless) * You can connect to it through the PS3 or Xbox 360 to watch / listen to multimedia files * Very * Set a very small area pain * Works just as promised and I am in danger of filling the huge disk 1 TB Cons * Run * is a bit noisy if there is a factor in my router or network drive, sometimes my netbook (wireless) and PS3 (with cable) temporarily lose your connection. I think this is something that happens in my network instead of the device anyway. * If you rename a file on my computer hard drive while a file is playing on my PS3, there is a hiccup in playback: lost sound for a second, then again the sound but the playback stops for a few seconds before continuing. Sound and picture are in sync when this happens, however. 54 of 54 people found this review helpful Easy set-up, but a little 'noisy With TechGuyBill I was looking for a storage device to backup all my data from my 3 computers (1 Mac OS X operating system 1 Windows 7, 1 run XP) and my wife's laptop (Vista), so a particular type of device shared between multiple devices is a necessity. In the beginning I was thinking of buying a bigger disk and put it in my home server, but came across your Iomega sale when you walk into a local store. They were for sale, so I broke ... I bought a gigabit switch as well and did a few tests from my two PCs - one with and one with gigabit 100Mbps. Transferring a 700MB AVI file took ~ 68 seconds with a tool for Fast Ethernet (100Mbps) interface. My other PC with gigabit interface was able to transfer the file in about 35 seconds. I do not like 3rd party applications to install the backup manually manage, so I'm copying the things I want to back up versus using Iomega software included It is compatible with DLNA and flow to different media devices .... you will be able to see it in the network and the PS3.

The client more useful to 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. Finally! By Steven M Muenkel I can breathe a sigh of relief that my quest for a quality player to the media that plays MP4s reliably different resolutions, subtitles and audio tracks are over. If you have a group of (unprotected) iPhone / Ipad video compatible with the built-in functions, this machine has no trouble putting them on your TV with smooth playback. Yes, the menu system is very attractive, with a learning curve for a few minutes, but it does what it was designed to do and that's what I want. I had a little problem with the external USB drives that are dependent on powered from the USB port, but with SATA drives included, not a big problem. USB flash drive works well. I only had a couple of weeks but so far I have found this model to be a versatile player and always reliable little. I'm pretty happy. I hope Micca keeps firmware updates. I plan to use these machines for a long time 4 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Good job, UI work of J. Levin needs, I have a lot of research before buying it. Micca seems one of the only companies currently making a digital media player with the ability to basically deal with all relevant formats. It plays any type of file I threw at it perfectly. The video quality is great, and it was easy to set. The user interface is sloppy. It is unnecessary steps throughout the process. I'll still give it four stars to meet my needs perfectly. 3 of 4 people found this review helpful. Excellent Media Center by Christopher Paul D I bought two of these - one for myself and one for my son. Fri after two weeks of intensive use, we both found the device to work properly for streaming video in all formats, and the photos. Easy installation, connected to our network without any problem, the remote control good range, and despite comments from others, I think the user interface is well why we recommend it without reservation. ScreenPlay Director - frustrating and should be improved by Sudarshan Karkadè I've never owned a media player before and I did not think using one would be so difficult. The technology has been around for a few years and you would think that producers would have understood some basic needs. I wonder if the engineers Iomega also seen their first competition to design this. Advantages: 1) works 2) The connections are easy 3) It looks good 4) has buttons on the front for most businesses - if you lose the remote, you can use your device 5) built-in hard disk 6) allow external USB drives (I have only tried a flash drive and it worked fine) 7) Play AVCHD files from Canon (HG10) without converting 8) Play video without converting flip Cons: 1) my Canon AVI Video (S1-S2 IS and ES) can not play 2) MOV video files from my Panasonic (FZ28) can not play 3) USB connection to PC is flaky sometimes drive is recognized, sometimes not. Win XP, and Windows 7 had the same problem. I have yet to figure out what makes it work - very frustrating problem. 4) Manual is only printed Quick Installation Guide, has no useful information, and takes less than one letter paper (single side) 5) Manual is on a CD that is delivered in HTML format, difficult to use. Why not give a PDF? 6) When you are connected to the TV and turned on, it takes several seconds to start. I have a suspecion that the contents of the hard drive reads at startup 7) Menu selection (with remote control) is difficult to control. Press the button again - nothing happens. Press it again, jumped twice. 8) When you browse to a folder with many files, it displays the first few files. There is no scroll bar, and there is no way to know how many files are present. I could not understand how the page up and page down. This function can not be there. 9) I could not find a way to play video-randomize. If you want a series of home videos and you can see, you look them in turn. 10) If an error occurs (file can not be played), is a pop-up window, and it would not disappear so easily. Press the OK button is another unexpected action. My list: 1) I want a firmware update with a completely redesigned menu design. The current system is very frustrating. 2) This device must accept the most popular file formats (JPEG) without first converting them to play. 3) a printed manual 4) Connect the USB connection issues 5) Speed up the boot process I could convert my video files have been successfully MediaCoder software (free) to MP4 Screenplay and Director, they played well. 42 of 42 people found the following review helpful. Flushed my money down the drain by J. Shinn, this product at Amazon's "Lightning Sale" for $ 199 and I thought, awesome. Iomega has always been around with their Zip drives and what-not, and 2 TB space to collect all my AVI's, MPEG's, MP4, MP3 and JPEG is a platform that they would play great in 1080i ... Nope, it loaded fine, in fact I thought it went quite quickly, but when I put it on. It is SLOWWWWWW, and I do not mean just to start. I changed batteries in remote ... Twice because I do not want to believe that such a simple device can be attached to navigate four menu options. After wading through menus and submenus painfully unattractive, it would still take me back to the File menu, and God forbid that you have all your MP3 in the same folder that is blocked for 10 minutes talking about lock-up, which appears in this hobby. I had to reset 3 times in the first 10 minutes, including physically pull the plug because it was completely insensitive. I am not in the habit of desecrating a product, but usually my options based on customer feedback that I have much, but unfortunately at the time of my purchase of the product was its brand new, and there was no feedback. Forever.

Visitor 134,130 people found most useful the following review helpful. ... Master of the majority by A. Dent As in Jack of All Trades:) I would like to start by saying that "I like" (but not quite "love") Hub WD live TV and it makes a 4 (not 5) stars. And I like, despite missing some almost "must have" characteristics of a device of its kind, as some redundancy (RAID-1 disk mirroring =) or at least an integrated backup utility or other significant safety and to a lesser extent (I 'I'll explain) built-in Wi-Fi and I really like that there are still occasional errors, such as lack of maintenance Hub / update your' Media Library '. And I like that, though the "services" Hub compatible web a few at the moment - because some "great" either. ___________________________ Note: (updated 09/09/2011): I'm updating this to 5-stars because the original draft of my review, most bugs have been corrected, and many Web services and other important features such as 'game' has been Added thanks to its versatility, built-in storage, low energy consumption and its ability to integrate with the rest of the hub is now the central element (the true center) of my entertainment center. ___________________________ WHY I like it mentions some of the shortcomings properly above, I like the hub, because: The hub proves to be a well-connected, is relatively easy to use and operate energy-efficient, physically small, versatile video / music / stills Players with ability, the equivalent of almost 200 DVD-quality movies on the built-in 1 TB drives, expandable to synchronize many times more than it is connected to a USB drive and be able to play the contents of every available media server Built to save as PCs, Xbox or PS3, Microsoft Home Server or NAS (Network Attached Storage) The Hub can also get out on the net, and report to the local weather, play YouTube videos, Netflix, Hulu Plus and blockbuster movies, podcasts and music from Pandora (I created a list of supported web services below). I had the opportunity to add live TV Hub for my Harmony universal remote settings and I could deal with the lack of a backup function (running a scheduled Robocopy job from a master server), because the Axis unit can be assigned and handled like any other computer unit via a PC hub reflect the content of existing media servers and acts as a media server for other devices (PC, PS3, etc) on the same network. It can be configured to synchronize with any content you find on your home network and is compatible with iTunes (I have not tried it myself supporting iTunes). And for heavy users of YouTube, a USB keyboard, to allow easy browsing. In addition, the Hub it easy to send a message directly to Facebook and Flickr. And finally, the hub is likely to do more and better tomorrow, because WD is constantly updating the firmware and hopefully it will quickly solve some of the more annoying bugs, and because it appears to be an active, lively, innovative, helpful and supporting users [Rating: 2. firmware updates later, a new Web services are added and some bugs] ________________________________________________________________ Here is the hub functions in a more organized form. Media Player - Play video in full HD and multi-channel audio. - Music playback supports playlists. - Play movies / videos with filters for genre, rating and so on. - Images, has slideshow capabilities. - Games section (added on 17/05/2011) uploaded "Mind Games" as Sudoku, puzzles, games, memory. Media Hub - Operates as a media server for other devices (PC, PS3, Xbox). PS3 "saw" the hub and was able to deliver content to play as soon as it went online. - Read content from other media servers on the LAN, he saw "everything" we have lit together as quickly as. - Get the content out NAS (Network Attached Storage). - Synchronization with the media on the PC available and provides support for iTunes. ONLINE.

Customer most helpful reviews 79 of 85 people found the following review helpful. Sonos works fine .. Thomas B Goodloe Yesterday I bought one of these units to use as a drive Network Attached Storage for my Sonos music system. This device is perfect for the installation and exceeded my expectations. The setting for this machine is a snap. Sonos and my PC recognized zero problems. The transfer unit is about 70MB / s which is enough for my purposes. Also (and an important source for the Sonos), this device after inactivity and yet you can set how long wait before you go down (do not see any other unit in this price range that will do this). In addition, this unit is preformatted with NTFS file system to format it is not necessary, as with most external drives. Having a NAS unit with potential is excellent, because you need less hardware to the drive available for Sonos. Finally, because the unit has an on / off switch will not have to worry about losing the power that you have to convert it back (as with the old Linksys NSLU2) The only reason I did not take this five stars is because t "access through the web" part of the feature set is misleading. What you can expect is that this unit is available online through some type of connection without a PC to facilitate. Unfortunately, you need all those things that make this album accessible via the web. WD offers software to allow it, "MioNet" seems antiquated and dilapidated, not to mention not free. If you can not leave your PC that is acceptable to you, I recommend downloading the Opera browser and use of their "Unite" services that provide many of the same services that MioNet, but *. * Free In general, a strong and buy a good product. If you have a Sonos system and want their music available, then this is the album that you need. 67 out of 74 people found the following review helpful Reliable and fast by Richard C. Drew These devices are one of the "must haves" for the modern home entertainment center or home network. You can create multiple tasks - backups on media streaming. If you have a network, and just want a common place to store files that will do that. Need a streaming media server for your new TV or networked media player? Ditto. Automatic network backup? Check. I use it to store pictures and video. Because digital images only virtually (no more negative for safety!) Backups are a must. I keep multiple backups that photography is a hobby and a job. I have also attached a media streaming device to my TV, and they may have video, audio and display images from the Internet and the connected network devices to play. This device shows up on the list of network devices, and it is a few clicks to navigate to the desired medium. Streaming works perfectly. All you need is in the box. A short network cable, power supply, the network drives and CD installation is easy and simple installation. Connect the power cords and network, sitting at your PC, drop the installation CD and follow the instructions. You can not just plug in and go - you must run the installation CD. It is not just a player - it is a mini file server. You must set the permissions and user accounts. The first thing the installer did was check for an update. One was available, then I left the installation. It took about 25 minutes. This step can be ignored, but it is always a good idea to install the updates. After this was completed, I created a couple of user accounts - quickly and easily. You can create accounts for private storage, public, and determine who has access to this account. So little Billy can not see things from his sister, or any employee can have a private and public storage. Very practical and well executed. Also included backup software - PC, Mac, and a network automatically. I have not installed the software I used in the past and prefer the manual backup. Case: If you know the WD products, you will notice that all look the same. Them.

It's good to have our photos and music online so that we can use our Sony Bravia, Blu-ray to show pictures or play music through our sound system. And my Internet Radio Grace Digital now has access to the slopes in 4000 our local network. That is why I like it. But ... Connected me with the instructions of our network and installed the Iomega software management. The head could not find the device as intended. I am connected to our router to discover the IP address, adding that it manually. That did it. Less troublesome. Then I realized that the NAS report their capacity of 1.8 TB, not 2 TB. OK, 1.8 TB still a choice of a lot of storage space, but it is 2 TB. Now that I have 8000 images and 4000 audio tracks on the disc, there is still 1.78 GB of free space. So, no big deal. All files on the NAS appeared in my Windows Explorer file list, so I thought I could copy all the music and photos directly to the mapped drives, it seemed to work with music - no matter that it took 15 hours to copy up to 18 GB - but the photos do not copy well at all. Some files are simply missing and most others were damaged. I tried to copy them to a wired network connection instead of a direct wireless connection, but still no joy. Finally, there was work yet, the FTP server enabled on the NAS and use an FTP client (Filezilla in my case) to download the photos. Not only does it not work with damaged files, it took only a fraction of the time to copy files. It worked so well, I deleted all the music and transferred a second time using FTP. Why should you risk? It took two hours instead of 15 Nowhere could I find the manual for tips on adding content to the hard disk. It would have been useful. I've tried to activate the personal cloud. The NAS should automatically configure the router, but failed to do so I could not figure out how to configure port forwarding on your router to do the job, trying every combination of IP address and port suggested. Now my router is about 6 years, which is 2 years in the router centuries, so I bought a new router. E 'was less than $ 40 and I have not tried it yet but I'll let you know. Yet, all the little problems, right? But I can not meet the darn thing seems to be offline from time to time. I can not access either the director or the web page. I have to reboot to get it to work, and it will take seven Forevers to restart. Summary: great idea, great result when it works, but in a world where nothing is easy also, what makes me excited is a product that does what it is supposed, without aspiring hours of my time. And there's more. UPDATE: The new router was not in itself sufficient for my personal cloud, but rather a UPnP enabled router, the NAS was able to configure their ports still no joy. I spoke to Iomega support and they led me through your list, most of which I had already tried, but when you run out of ROM does not stop button. Everything seemed copacetic with me to my next call was to my ISP, EMBARQ. I called technical support before and EMBARQ are impressive. David the guy suggested I needed support to "save my modem" and led me through the process step by step. In two minutes it was done and NAS in sync and made the connection. Yay! But I'm still trying to discover the personal cloud that seems to be high or low, when trying to connect. It's always something. 23 of 27 people found this review helpful.
