I called Buffalo tech support and they advised me and reset the device and update firmware. It resolved the permissions issue. My only regret is not having chosen larger hard drives, because I have mirrored disks. except that it's been a week and no problems at all. My only complaint is the availability of the device and the cover should have done a little more robust, which said that the unit is very elegant. I saw some reports in the Buffalo community release Windows 7 drive mappings, but these issues on my WinXP, Vista and Ubuntu Linux. I have local and remote access 24 / 7, I'm happy with my new NAS 18 of 19 people found this review helpful. Excellent NAS Justin E. Hester, I had originally wanted to go with Seagate BlackArmor drive, but it was over and after reading some reviews decided to go with Buffalo drive I'm very glad I did. Contrary to what some other reviewers have pointed out that works wonderfully current model and also in a mirrored RAID has good response times. Of course, the first process to backup and copy over the data took some time, but honestly, if you have something running in a RAID configuration, I do not expect the SSD memory or data transfer rate. Whereas it was for most of the data via a wireless and a RAID configuration transfer, it was pretty quick (about 5 hours drive from four systems simultaneously for a total of 200GB). Some complain about this, but I think people expect unrealistic idea of copying an internal 7200 RPM SATA 7200 RPM to another internal SATA. The reality is this was going on over a wireless network and write to two physical devices, not just one. So from my perspective this was a perfectly acceptable and rapid transfer of data read is much faster because it only requires an access unit for reading and I can stream audio without problems. I do not have no other video stream to a handful of music videos are 1024 x 768 and scaled up steam without problems. After all, a great buy for the price and I know that Buffalo is behind their products. I know some corp and government agencies that regularly Buffalo NAS RAID can be used for backups of the entire system, etc. 12 of 13 people found the following review helpful. Brad Bouchard great product I am an AV integrator and frequently use this product as a DLNA server for a wide range of facilities, including AV receivers and Sonos music systems, I still have a house. Working straight from the box, without an extreme amount of IT knowledge. IP interface is filled a little jargon as it can be used for a wide range of backup tasks, but as a music server, I can not give it nothing but praise Cheap, quiet, solidly built. Thanks to Buffalo.
